Skolunkan

A little meeting place in an old shoe shop • A non-profit association which creates meetings

Östervåla, Sweden

For three generations, the people of Östervåla walked in Lundqvist's shoes. Then in 2015, Skolunkan shut its doors as a shoe shop.

In the middle of the pandemic, Anna, Alfie and Dougald moved to Östervåla. Since then we've renovated the old shoe shop and started inviting people in for all kinds of meetings and cultural events.

Our passion is to contribute to a living culture that is rooted in hospitality and the conversations that happen around the kitchen table, where we bring together our neighbours and guests from near and far. In 2025, we founded Skolunkans Kulturmakeri as a non-profit association in order to journey further into this adventure.
